these are amazing, I think the idea that their thoughts are 'published' and in their own voice, really makes students focus and be more thoughtful with their preparation.

p.s. the last two links wouldn't give me access, they might be set to private

These are great, I really enjoyed the topic you chose, as I am sure your students did too. Where did you have them get the images from? That is the part that I struggle with the most..Having students gather pictures without breaking any copyright laws.

Fortunately, Voice Thread is a good example of technology that supports the doctrine of fair use. When it comes to using copyrighted images, educators and their students have wide latitude to use them for educational purposes. The doctrine of fair use, part of the Copyright Act of 1976, allows people to use copyrighted materials when their use of them creates a social benefit that is greater than the harm caused to the copyright holder. Too many educators have been scared away from using copyrighted materials-- when it's perfectly legal to do so.

The fair use doctrine strongly supports the transformative use of copyrighted materials. So when you add a comment, create a new message, critique, analyze or re-purpose copyrighted materials, you are acting lawfully.
