VoiceThread Docs / Web Application / Notifications / Instant email notifications

By default, you will receive an instant email notification every time someone records a comment on a VoiceThread that you own, that was shared with you, that you have commented on, or that you have subscribed to. You can click on the comment in that email to open it in your web browser.

To disable instant notifications for your account, please follow these steps:

  1. Click on your identity image in the top-right corner of the page.
  2. Select “My Account” from the menu.
  3. Click on the “Notifications” tab.
  4. Toggle the individual notifications settings to “No”. Your new settings are saved automatically.

If you’d like to continue receiving instant notifications but would like to unsubscribe from one particularly active VoiceThread, you can unsubscribe directly from the email notification you received. At the bottom of that email, there is a link that says, “Stop sending me instant notifications on this VoiceThread”. Clicking that will unsubscribe you immediately. You can always re-subscribe to this VoiceThread on your Notifications page (see steps above).

If you are not receiving the instant notifications even though they are enabled, please review the email troubleshooting tips.

If you have an institutional VoiceThread license and wish to have instant notifications disabled for all of your members, you can change those in your license settings.

Note: If your institution has VoiceThread integrated in your LMS, you would need to go click on an integrated link in your course in order to get signed in first, and then click on the links in your notification emails.

Important! If you receive a notification about a comment on a formal assignment, you cannot access that comment from the email. Instead, please go into your course and click on the assignment link there. This will be updated in the future.
